A young child died after falling into a pool in a tragic swimming pool accident at a residence on the 100 block of Prospect Road in Sicklerville, New Jersey.
The victim was a two-year-old girl who was at the Sicklerville NJ house with her family. Adult family members noticed the victim floating in the pool and pulled her out of the water.
While family members performed CPR on the victim and tried desperately to revive her, someone dialed 911 to alert local authorities. Emergency medical responders rushed to the scene, where they found the victim unresponsive. An ambulance transported the young victim to Kennedy University Hospital in Washington Township NJ, where doctors provided medical treatment and attempted to stabilize her condition. (The victim remained in critical condition at the Washington Township hospital.)
The victim was later transferred to a different medical facility, the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, where doctors provided further medical treatment.
Meanwhile, detectives with the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office conducted an investigation and determined that the swimming pool accident was just that – an accident, with no suspicious circumstances leading up to the victim’s fall into the pool. As a result, it is unlikely that anyone will be criminally charged in connection with the fatal swimming pool accident.
Tragically, Winslow NJ law enforcement has now confirmed that the victim passed away due to her accident-related injuries. The victim died during Labor Day weekend, roughly one week after being hospitalized.
