Serious School Bus Collision in Burlington County, New Jersey
Officials are saddened to report several students and school staff were injured when multiple school buses were involved in a car accident on July 16. Around 4:30 P.M., police were informed about the accident on Tuckerton Road and Lenape Trail. According to reports, five school buses were in the process of bringing students from Katz JCC Camps when the accident occurred.
Emergency responders quickly identified at least 24 patients that needed to be brought to a local hospital for treatment. At least 21 of the injured victims were children, and three were adult staff members and bus drivers.
An investigation has been launched to determine what caused this multi-bus collision. Reports confirmed that at least four of the five buses were so badly damaged that they needed to be towed away from the scene.
